Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergartners never experienced the academic world that existed before COVID-19. They have not had the necessary socialization with other students and emotionally they are reeling when they are collaborating in centers, which is the most engaging learning environment for a child to experience. They need tools that will help them develop self-regulation (emotional intelligence), a sense of community, and allow their creativity to blossom. In using these centers that can easily be cleaned and sanitized, students will be able to actively build and control with robotics, fostering self-confidence and empowerment. They need hands-on materials so they can they explore and problem solve as pairs and teams, learning to share and communicate with words that encourage and uplift their peers, while also developing their already pandemic-limited oral lanugage skills.
