My Students

Our career and technology center educates students from multiple high schools, from different school districts, as well as homeschooled students. They began the year as students from different schools, but have meshed into one classroom of CTE students.

These students dream big, but many also assume that they will not reach their dreams because they don't have the resources available to get their dream job or even to go to college.

Many of these students are from low-income homes in our area, but that can not be an excuse to lower our standards or our expectations.

My Project

As educational budgets are stretched farther and farther, our technology and reusable supplies are showing their age and consumable supplies are becoming more scarce. Educators have become very creative in repurposing supplies, but there comes a time when equipment breaks and/or becomes obsolete in the industry.

In the healthcare field, electronic records and "real-time" documentation at the bedside are the standard.

Healthcare students need to learn to use equipment specific to the industry and have access to a mobile computer without trekking to the computer lab. These laptop computers will also be used in researching specific healthcare-related topics and in creating given assignments.
