My students need activities to provide creative thinking opportunities. These items will be used to create lockbox challenges. I can reprogram the word locks, combination locks and directional locks to provide new challenges and thinking opportunities.
Smart, creative and problem solvers! This describes my classroom of first grade students.
The Smarty Bear classroom is a STEM based classroom.
Whenever possible STEM is incorporated in every subject. Hands-on activities inspire these kiddos to be creative and problem solve.
These students are culturally diverse and come from a variety of socio-economic statuses. Our classroom provides a safe environment that encourages learning and academic growth. Developing problem solving skills and a love of learning will open the door of success for these students.
My Project
First Grade students love to learn new things, but get bored easily. These materials will allow me to provide exciting, engaging and stimulating thinking opportunities.
Students will unlock the padlocks while also unlocking the love of learning!
Breakout Box Challenges are a classroom version of Escape Room! I can adapt the challenges to fit the needs and curriculum requirements of the classroom.
The possibilities for learning are endless. Students use their math, language arts, science and social studies knowledge to solve riddles and problems. The answers provide clues that help unlock the padlocks. Students are rewarded with certificates or prizes.
