My 15 students walk into class every day bubbling with excitement. Many of my students receive free lunch and backpack food for the weekend. Yet, despite the daily struggles they view school as a safe and exciting challenge. They are excited to be at school and have even mentioned that they would trade a snow day at home for a day at school.
They are bright, kind, creative, and eager to learn!
Many days we are late to lunch or dismissal because we are caught up in exciting learning activities and engaging discussions. As a teacher I am always learning from them and inspired to be better because of them.
Escape rooms are quickly becoming all the rage in the adult world. Why not let our students at school experience the joy of overcoming an educational challenge as well? Breakout boxes are packed full of education. Students continuously practice combined math and literacy skills needed for success. The bonus of all this: it is highly engaging. Students are eager to work and problem solve because they are not "locked" into one place. It is a win:win for everyone involved!
These breakout locks and boxes will allow my students to become critical thinkers, collaborative workers, creative problem solvers, and build communication skills.
