Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all have mental health needs and are very unique! Despite all the challenges they face in their daily lives, they are still coming to school and trying to get a diploma. For some of our students, they are the first ones in their families to graduate high school.

Emotional Support students tend to have the worst lifetime outcomes and graduating high school is not easy for them - nationally, about 40% of ES students drop out.

I work hard to try to ensure my students don't become part of that statistic. Help me celebrate their creativity, talents, and individual needs through my DonorsChoose projects so they can see their potential and feel valued!

My Project

The filing cabinet is the main item in this project. I am an IEP case manager and often have documentation, assessments, and other items that need to be locked away in order to maintain confidentiality.

I have moved into a classroom with no filing cabinets, so I have nowhere to secure the files containing the students' personal information.

In addition to the cabinet, I have included two smaller items that are important - one is a cable to connect the EcoTank printer to my laptop so the students can send me projects and assignments that I can print in color for them. The final item is a bulk pack of lint rollers - an item my students highly request on a regular basis so they can look their best.
