My students need these 3 Lock and Key learning tools to be successful at independent learning stations, as they allow students to practice and self check their work and encourage teamwork.

My Students
My excited, eager to learn kindergarten students greet me on the playground each morning with a hug and a hello. Once the bell rings, the students line up before entering the classroom to begin the day. Most mornings, someone asks, "What are we going to learn today?", while the others wait with anticipation. The best days are those which begin with cheers for my response. My diverse students, from disadvantaged backgrounds work hard to achieve the academic, social and emotional demands of the kindergarten school day and have fun while learning.
My Project
These 3 sets of Lock and Key will be used at learning stations where students must complete tasks without the support of an adult. Students will enjoy the challenge of unlocking the locks, as they match the key to the lock with the corresponding lowercase to capital letters, number of dots to the digit, or the sum of two numbers to the answer.
Since the lock will only open with the correct answer key, students will be able to self check their answers.
My learning station groups of eight students will practice social skills as they work together to unlock all the locks with the correct keys.
