This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our high school lost its baseball program over 4 years ago. We have 15 student athletes willing and dedicated to play. Many of them have never played before, but they have been practicing and training for the past two weeks. Most do not own a glove or any baseball gear. This is their first experience with baseball.

So far we are having fun on the field learning the very basics of baseball.

We will be a JV team to begin with. Most of the athletes come from an economically disadvantaged background.

My Project

Our high school has not had a baseball team in over 4 years. We have little to no equipment. We have 15 student athletes dedicated to playing, most who have never played before. They have been working hard and would appreciate the help!

All of our athletes are students first.

They must keep up their grades in order to play. This is their motivation! Most of our players are playing baseball for the first time. We are hoping to make it memorable for them. This equipment will help them develop the skills they need.
