Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My elementary age students are the strongest people I know. No matter what circumstances they find themselves in, they show up to school each and every day with hungry minds, ready to learn and conquer the day. The school, my classroom and learning are the only constants in some of their lives. My classroom is a diverse community. Each and every one of my students is unique and amazing in their own way. They have individual learning preferences and styles that drive instruction and learning in and outside of the classroom. My students are the future and I cannot wait to see all that they accomplish.
My Project
Literacy in the younger grades is very important for development and future success. We love to read so much! Reading has become such a loved time in my classroom. My students have developed a passion for reading and love being able to connect to characters. From the Pigeon to Pig the Pug, connecting to characters creates a deeper love and understanding for what they are reading.
Llama Llama welcome home!
I would love to provide my students with another beloved character that adds excitement to our reading block. Students will grow in literacy and learn lessons by connecting to the llama.
