We are an inquisitive, fun, smart, and excited community of learners. We are diverse in every sense of the word: culturally, economically, racially, linguistically, and in terms of our interests.
We come together in the classroom to create a rigorous learning community.
Together, we will investigate and discover how our similarities and differences inform our understanding of the world. We are excited to tackle a new year of learning and fun together. Please support us as we complete elementary school.
My Project
We study living systems in fifth grade but we do not always get a chance to truly live with these systems. By providing us with an aquarium and vermiculture (worm box) habitat, you will allow us to experiment with living systems through hands-on, real-world experiences.
We are interested in how small changes can have big impacts on living systems.
This relates not just to our micro environments but will help us understand how climate disruption is affected by seemingly small changes in human behavior. These materials will help us make connections between our science field trip to Lake Merritt, our language arts & social studies unit on extreme weather, and our science unit about living systems.
