Help me give my students a real-world experience in hospitality and food service industry. We have a lobby area that could serve as a Culinary Arts Student Center with lockers/announcements/production sheets and assignments.
We have 63 culinary arts ProStart students in the 11th and 12th grades here at Nathan Hale High School. Our students have a passion for learning and for serving. We have a state of the art kitchen and attached dining room where we are open to the public 2 days of every week. Our students help plan the menus, they help develop our recipes. They prep and cook the food we serve in our dining room Hale's Kitchen and they serve our customers who come in for lunch every week.
Our students have a terrific work ethic.
They work very well together as a team. They are focused, hard working and conscientious. They support each other and each other efforts. They want to pursue their dreams of culinary Arts school or college or both! They are eager to learn and just a joy to work with.
My Project
At Tulsa Hale High School our Culinary Arts students train in the hospitality and food service industry mastering skills to prepare for a life long and fulfilling career. A new Culinary Arts Student Center will provide a centralized location for students to network with community opportunities such as jobs and internships. It will provide a boundary apart from the working culinary kitchen emphasizing a distinction between a pseudo staging area where students will access that day's instructions, food production sheets, uniforms, safety information, trends in food service and the food production area. Students will access time schedules, communicate with their class managers about planned absences, report to managers challenges and victories in the Culinary Kitchen at Nathan Hale High School.
