Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are motivated to learn! They walk in everyday excited to get their schedule and routines going. They love to share their ideas and participate in the lessons. My students have special needs and yet they work even harder to overcome their disabilities. It's amazing to see how much they learn and master new skills. From little accomplishments to huge progress, my students always make it rewarding to see what they can do.

My Project
We currently have bookshelves filled with books but my students need a designated area in our classroom as our library. A new area rug and bean bag chairs will help create this space for them. I want an area for them that will be inviting and comforting as they read to promote this skill. The new bins and book pockets will help better organize our current books so that they can access their favorite books easily! My students love to read and building this area for them in the classroom will encourage them to keep reading and build their literacy skills!
