Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary is a Title I school located in the city of Compton, Ca where our students are very open to building prosperous relationships with their peers and staff that honor our school pride. They are loving, warm, fun and friendly.
"The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship"- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Our students want the best that their young lives have to offer and understand that "TRUST" is everything!
Working and socializing in a different atmosphere can help students become better. The Live-Work Community Student Lounge will serve as a dedicated multi-purpose component to our Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program (P.B.I.S.) for our middle school aged students. This room will be used for middle school study hall with internet access, a place to destress during an overwhelming day, but it will primarily serve as a reward for those whose continue to exemplify positive behavior and good deeds.
Advantageous!!!!
A Live-Work Student Community Lounge at Emerson Elementary School, will grant our Middle School Students many benefits. This flexible space will be a wonderful outlet and haven for our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and teachers to call their own, especially when they all need a well deserved break from the traditional classroom setting.
We are gracefully moving from a place where transgressions are the only thing seen, and good behavior goes unnoticed, “to a place where we can reward positive behavior daily”. We are coming together to create a space where kids want to be.
