Media Literacy is an essential skill in the twenty-first century. Media Production Is a great experience for students to practice communicating through media. It gives them a chance to tell their stories.
Participating in media communication classes allows students to gain verbal visual skills to reach their full potential.
Authentic experiences found in a high school media class allow students to use their creativity in ways that can empower and strengthen lives and communities. Creativity is central to solving a multitude of problems in our world today both technological and social. Art opens channels of communication not accessible in its absence; without it, students are left at a disadvantage. Give students a creative space to access their creativity through live streaming, interviews and reporting on their activities and lives.
My Project
Media class employs a set of abilities and skills where aural, visual, and digital literacy overlap. These are all found in Media classrooms. They include the ability to understand the power of images and sounds, to recognize and use that power, to tell stories, record histories and share them with the community and world. This equipment will allow student to have clear audio and live stream events on campus.
Interviewing community members, spreading cheer and joy, reporting on the news, sports and events, as well as listening to one another in a diversity platform gives our students vital skills needed in the twenty-first century as we are all media creators.
