My students need these books in order for each of my students to have a personal classroom copy for our standards based novel study. The books are differentiated for their learning.
In my classroom, we are a family. We live, laugh, and learn through literacy. My kids love to be fully engaged in our daily lessons. They enter my room with a smile and an eagerness to see what is on the agenda for the day. They love applying our lessons to real world situations!
My students are all different little "agents" determined to question, attempt without fear, and apply their discoveries in order to "solve" every "mystery" presented to them.
Our school does a fabulous job at making our students feel special, and more importantly that each one of them can and will be successful.
My Project
These novels will greatly benefit all of my students. They will provide each of them with a copy of the novel. This is crucial for our standards based novel study. Not all students read or work at the same pace or grade level. This opportunity will allow for my higher students to engage in higher order of thinking skills while my lower level students to be successful through guided and small group practice. When each student has their own copy, it helps to create a more student engaged environment which in turn raises the percentage of success as a whole.
This donation will greatly benefit my classroom by allowing me to ensure each student is equally exposed to the desired literally work.
This particular novel study will be used to present and teach standards such as theme, cause and effect, plot analysis, main idea, application of nonfiction text to the fictional story, characterization, and so much more. Plus, this particular novel is enchanting. It could be the literally work that "grabs" them, and keeps them wanting to learn more.
