Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love our school based tv studio because it builds the culture of our school after more than 18 months apart. It is the way that we communicate the activities, sports, clubs, and meaningful events to our students on a daily basis. It promotes school spirit and has fostered a love and pride in our school and its over 1,600+ students that our school represents.
Our students work hard to learn communication, organization and public speaking skills by hands on experience working hand-in-hand with their fellow students and school faculty and staff.
These young people are thoughtful, hardworking, and eager to make their mark on the world. We want to provide them with the skills and care they need in order to reach their goals and give back to their community.
My Project
HermTV has been a staple of our high school for decades but the studio is outdated. Our students exist in a digital world and they need a studio that is 21st century ready.
Regardless of their path after graduation, these students will need to develop strong communication skills.
With new equipment, our students will not only be on a more even playing field as other schools but will now be able to exercise their creativity, practice critical thinking, and create a final product that they will be proud to share with their school community.
