My students need writing journals that are easy for them to use during writing time. Regular notebooks don't have the drawing space that young children need at this age. Having these notebooks can help them greatly.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The majority of my students come from Hispanic backgrounds. Our school is in a low income neighborhood where students may not necessarily be exposed to a variety of materials. Having special notebooks will help them excel in what they do.
In Kindergarten one of the first things they learn to do is write.
A lot of my students don't have any prior school experience so coming into my classroom and holding a pencil in their tiny hands is hard work. I want them to feel ready and confident in their writing when they step foot in my classroom.
My Project
My students come into my classroom ready to learn. One of the tools that can help them is an easy to use writing journal. We write every single day in my classroom and having their own journal can really help them be confident in this area of learning.
Drawing and writing go hand in hand at this age, and this journal is perfect for just that.
It gives them plenty of space to draw and write which will then create wonderful, young writers. Not only will these journals be filled with great work but at the end of the year we will be able to see how much they have grown in writing from the first day.
