I teach at a Title I school in Louisiana, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students walk into our classroom every day, full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I ask them, "Who is the best pre-K class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them, and they can do anything.
Several of my students receive backpack food on the weekends. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school, because they want to learn all they can, so they can get smarter every day.
I am hoping for some soccer materials to use on our outdoor playground to develop gross motor skills through play. My students will learn the individual skills needed to play soccer as well as learn how to play together as a team. The children will strengthen their gross motor skills as well as work on their hand and eye coordination skills.
Many of the students haven't had the opportunity to learn about soccer so, it would be a great opportunity to teach them about the sport and have them actively learning important life skills through play.
Math skills such as counting, adding and subtracting will also be incorporated with the soccer activities to support the children's math skills. Through your generous donation, my students will learn how to play the team sport of soccer and strengthen their coordination skills.
