My students need Lakeshore's Block Play Simple Machines set, Lakeshore's Motion Discovery Tubes, Unbreakable Test Tubes, Touch & Feel Mystery Capsules, and Science Instant Learning Centers Complete Set.
My classroom has 24 curious four-year-olds who love exploring and discovering new things every day. Our classroom consists of a variety of different social and economic backgrounds, mostly low-income, 98% to be exact. All my students are native Spanish speakers, in which the majority if not all will be the first ones in their families to attend college. In our classroom, we focus on learning language skills, improving social and emotional skills, as well as learning ABC's, alliteration, and numbers to mention a few. For many of my students, coming to PK is their first time being away from home. The neighborhood where they live is a low-economic area, and educational resources are hard to find. The majority of my students' parents have two jobs in order to support their families.
Our classroom is a fun and safe place where all my students are valued and respected.
As educators, we know teaching science topics at a young age can help our preschoolers to build a lifelong interest in the subject.
Having the needed resources in our classroom such as the Lakeshore's Simple Machines, Lakeshore's Create-A- Chain Reaction STEM kit, or the Science Instant Learning Centers complete set can make my lessons more meaningful as my students can have hands-on activities and ultimately learn more about weather, animals, plants, and the physical world which will benefit them later in life.
By setting a strong science foundation, our students can gain positive attitudes towards their learning. It can create a great impact on their thinking, problem solving, and help them better understand the world around them.
