This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and love learning in centers. They are engaged when I teach hands on learning lessons and love working on the computer. My preschool students enjoy singing various songs, playing with educational toys, and connecting with each other. My students are in a blended class where some have special needs, developmental delays, autism, and may be nonverbal.

My students attend a Title I school where 71% of the students have a socioeconomic status that allows for them to have free/reduced lunch.

My students all receive free breakfast at our school. Some of my students come from a home where English is not the primary language spoken. We are in desperate need of your assistance in order to keep the students engaged during social centers and small group instruction. Several of my students lack communication skills, but with your assistance, they can be encouraged to express themselves. By funding this project, my students can gain a better understanding of social skills, be able to express themselves using technology, increase their fine motor skills, and be able to become better prepared for kindergarten.

My Project

My students learn best when technology is incorporated in the instruction. I have access to various learning websites and educational tutorial resources. I would like to be able to use the laptop to help make the learning more engaging for my young scholars. I will be able to have my students use the laptop during small group instruction and one-on-one instruction. Students will be able to read interactive books online and access letter and word activities through Starfall.com. I also have access to animated math lessons that will help students have a better grasp of number concepts including addition and subtraction within 5.
