This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a Pre-K classroom. I have 5 three-year-olds and 11 four and five-year-olds. We are an at-risk school. All students have free lunch status. We are a racially mixed class. I have two Hispanic students, two white students, and 12 African-Americans.
Five of our returning Pre-k students will be placed in a Kg classroom for Reading only.
I worked to challenge these students in reading and math. We believe that early education of the very young child is our best foundation for future success.
My children are special because they are all excited about school and want to be here every day, and that is a wonderful thing to say about the school.
My Project
I am in need of STEM materials for Pre-K.
The kit contains three of their favorite fairy tales.
The set contains materials to make chairs for the Three Bears that can't break. Materials to build a house that can't be blown down by the wolf and materials to build a bridge to keep the goats safe from the troll.
This is a different kind of project that I am requesting. It will take our unit of fairy tales a step further. It will be a team building project. Pre-K students work together with the Magna-blocks. I am looking for a challenge for them to be problem solvers while working as a team. I plan on taking pictures and make a book. They want me to take pictures of all of their creations.
