I have the honor and privilege of teaching at an art-infused school, where children from all cultural and economic backgrounds can grow and flourish into creative, successful young adults.
These students excel in all arts backgrounds, and it is only fair that they be allowed to achieve their maximum potential in the classroom by the use of added technology and other useful materials and resources.
My Project
The goal in my classroom is to make my students' experience as pleasant and conducive to learning as possible. The addition of lights will not only illuminate the room, but they will also shed light on new ideas which students will discover.
The inclusion of music, lighting, and extra activities into the classroom will greatly enhance the journey of learning for my students.
While lights might be a nice aesthetic incorporation into my classroom, I also believe they will serve to make the learning environment more comforting for the kids.
Having extra puzzles and activities on hand is essential during these warm Florida afternoons. While we usually take a walk in the afternoon, there will be days when rainy and inclement weather will hinder us from the outdoors. During these days, students would very much enjoy activities such as crossword puzzles and sudoku.
I would love to offer a more soothing atmosphere in class by adding a musical accompaniment via a Bluetooth speaker. I can use this to play classical music in the background, while students work hard to finish their assignments.
Last but certainly not least, an area rug would be a comfortable spot for students to sit and read for leisure during wind down time after a lengthy assessment.
