My Students

When I look out at my students every day, I see the future of our world. Some are serious students, and some are just plain silly, but they are all amazing. I feel so privileged to be their teacher because they are so bright, inquisitive, and delightful.

My students are diverse, and many come from a background of severe poverty, but they come with a twinkle in their eye and a smile on their face because they love school.

What more could a teacher ask for?

My Project

This year, we are discovering the joy that comes from reading. My students have been enjoying meeting with a Literature Circle group each Friday and discussing the books they are reading together. It has been such a treat for me to see their faces light up as they become excited about the stories they are reading.

My students are learning to love the magic waiting to be discovered between the pages of a great book.

I have noted several books and series my students have wished for but been unable to find. They would be beyond thrilled if titles like Lockwood and Co. and I Am Malala were made available to them in our classroom library for pleasure reading.
