Little Listeners

My students need a new listening station. This is where they listen to stories. Wireless headphones will allow students to be more comfortable while a new boombox will help this station run more smoothly.

My Students

My students come from all backgrounds. This area is a low-income/high poverty area. Many of my students have never used a computer. I teach students to use a mouse, a keyboard, headphones, and a touch screen every year.

My students are my whole world.

They work so hard to become little readers by the end of their kindergarten year. Their hard work makes me so proud! They work so diligently at literacy stations, learning to write, and becoming readers! I love offering my students everything that I possibly can.

My Project

These new materials will allow my students a more comfortable and effective listening experience. Each week, students take turns at the listening station. At this station, they listen to stories that I have purchased (books and CDs). When finished listening, students often have an extension activity to complete about the story.

New headphones and a new boombox will help the listening station to work more smoothly.

Lately, our listening station has been giving us some issues. The wires often get tangled up and it makes for an uncomfortable experience. Also, the boombox we have is getting to the end of its life. New materials will help this station be more efficient and less distracting.
