My Students
I work in the city of Nashua, NH as a literacy coach for all the elementary teachers. I get to work with students all around the city of Nashua. The students are from all backgrounds.
Now that Governor Sununu has announced schools must close until May 4th I realized students in Nashua are in need. Many of our students do not have many books in their homes. Teachers in this city have worked tirelessly to prepare and execute online learning opportunities for the students. One of the biggest needs I have seen for teachers and students is access to REAL books. There are lots of opportunities for digital books, which teachers are using, but we need to get books in the hand of students!
My Project
During this extended time away from schools and libraries, I want to put books in the hands of the children of Nashua. I want to put a "Little Library" in all of the Title 1 schools' neighborhoods so that when kids need a book to read for their teacher online, they have access to an actual book- which is what they are used to! Digital books are great and helpful but nothing beats a book in their hand!
Please help put Little Libraries filled with books in Nashua so all of our kids have access to books!
