Kindergarten is a very busy place to be. My students learn by being active learners. Everyday they come in asking "are we going to do centers today?" I love when I have the opportunity to introduce them to a brand new center.
I teach 48 of the youngest learners in my school.
It is my responsibility to make sure their school year is an exciting and positive year. I teach two groups of children and only have each group for half a day. Therefor I have a lot to teach them in a short amount of time. I must find fun and developmentally appropriate ways to do this.
My Project
My students need sight word games, alphabet games and letter sound games to use during center time. They will practice many of their kindergarten skills while playing a game, taking turns with classmates and having fun. When they're having fun and learning at the same time they are on their way to becoming lifelong learners and that's my long term goal for them.
Students who experience success in the early years of school become confident in their abilities to learn.
I know that all my students can and will learn how to recognize letters and sounds in words and sight words but I need them to believe in themselves! You can help give them some fun tools to help them experience success.
