My students need material for alphabet practice, paint/art supplies, number lines and science kits for centers. The easel would be used for art and small groups.
Our classroom is full of adventure and learning! We move from whole group to small group to independent work throughout the day! My students love to learn and try new things. They are always making discoveries and asking questions!
My kind and sweet kids are creative.
They love to discover and learn new things each day! They are always asking questions and wanting to know more about what we are learning. Our school is nestled in the mountains of a small town, 2 hours away from a city. This area is a low income town with students qualifying for free and reduced lunches. Even though we are in a rural town, we also have larger class sizes.
My Project
I have added a variety of supplies to this project. With the science kits they will learn about magnetism, buoyancy and motion. Number lines and alphabet writing practice will help students as they are learning to write letters and practice math skills such as adding. The number lines give students another way of seeing math concepts. This will be a way I differentiate with my learners. Some of my students really struggle with letter formation and the alphabet practice kit will be a fun and different way of practicing. I have also added art/paint supplies that will allow students to express their creativity through art. The easel will be used not only in art centered activities but also small groups and intervention groups. My students will be scientists, artists, mathematicians and writers with these materials.
We are from a small, low income town.
A lot of my students will only get these learning opportunities in my classroom this year. Being able to use these supplies will enrich their learning experiences and it will make a lasting impression on them. I am a beginning teacher, so getting these materials will help me to better educate my students. They will remember and learn from their experiences in my room!
