My Students

SW High School is located in a very small community in rural south-west Alabama. The school draws students from towns all over the area because of the reputation it has as a place where all children are accepted and encouraged to reach their full potential.

My students arrive at school each day with excited attitudes and are so eager to learn.

They come from homes that value education and know that it can open the doors to richer lives for their children.

My Project

As young children are learning and gaining digital skills, Kindle Fire tablets are easier tools to navigate than Chromebooks or other devices with a touch pad or a mouse. Many times, young students spend a lot of idle time when they are given an opportunity to learn with a device because they are unable to manipulate the mouse or the touch pad.

Giving them access to the tablets will help them develop all content standards through fun and engaging apps and websites.

They will be able to practice their core content standards independently and will gain confidence as a digital learner and this will help them transition to using a variety of digital resources in the future.
