I have a group of happy, enthusiastic, creative preschool students between the ages of 3 and 5! There are seven girls and seven boys in our room, and two of our students have special needs. Although the children have different backgrounds and abilities, they all love the same thing: to play, pretend and be creative in our classroom!
My students love playtime in our room, and they will happily play for hours!
Play is their work and many skills are developed through creative play! Verbal skills are developed and enhanced during play, and we are always looking for new ways to help our students succeed and progress verbally!
My Project
Help us give our non verbal, special needs students audio equipment to help them with language acquisition.
Music activates parts of the brain that contribute to a child's overall development.
We have seen the progress that other students have made using this multi sensory approach. Headphones and an MP3 player will stimulate the body to be ready to learn! The children will listen to different kinds of music, including Mozart, jazz and contemporary with varying rhythms, speeds and pitches. Listening while engaging in motor activities and play facilitates developmental growth and creates conversational language and social skills -- things essential for success in school and life!
