My class of 23 kindergarteners is filled with fun loving and enthusiastic 5 and 6 year old students. This diverse group of learners includes students with special needs, English language learners and students without any prior school experience.
Although my students have such varied backgrounds, two things are the same: their eagerness to learn and their short attention span.
Every topic we discuss fills them with wonder and excitement to learn more and connect it to their own lives. They love to do hands-on activities, learn through games and get up and move whenever they can.
My Project
As the old saying goes, everything we ever need to know, we learned in kindergarten! This has never been more true. Kindergarten is more academically demanding than ever before and requires students to attend to tasks throughout a seven-hour school day. This is no easy task for even adults!
These reading and math games will enable my students to practice learning their letters and numbers in a fun and engaging way.
Students will be able to build their basic reading and math skills as well as their social skills while interacting with their peers. These differentiated games will enable all of my students to learn on their level and have fun!
