This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are precious five- and six-year-olds that log onto Zoom ready to learn and grow each day. Their little minds put all sorts of connections together on a daily basis and they are eager to continue learning! The majority of my students are from minority groups and almost all of them live in poverty. They are always striving to be their personal best! They enjoy all subjects and love using their hands throughout the learning process. My students are also eager to practice and enhance their reading progress as they learn to become more independent and confident in their abilities. I can't wait to watch them blossom in this new semester!
My Project
Since August, my students have been learning virtually. As kindergartners, this means that they have been learning to read, write, and share through Zoom each day. And as you can imagine, this has been a difficult feat for many, and providing manipulatives to build words has been financially impossible. Your donation will allow me to send all 32 virtual students a set of magnetic alphabet letters and magnetic magic boards. The letters will stick to the boards so that students can easily show me their work and write the word underneath. It will also be incredibly cost-effective and eliminate the need for whiteboards and markers that will eventually have to be replaced.
