Help me give my students supplies to raise tadpoles while studying their life cycle. We need a tank and accessories, tadpole food, and a large magnetic life cycle set.
My second-grade students are so energetic and eager to learn! They love hands-on learning, working together, and technology. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but have one special thing in common...we are part of one school family that supports and encourages each other. We have a lot of school spirit! Our community takes pride in our schools and our students.
Good character traits are promoted and expected in the classroom, school, and community.
A popular saying in our county is "Just Be Jersey!" which means to strive to uphold positive character that has come to be associated with our area.
My Project
Each year, my students observe the life cycle of monarch butterflies in the fall. We even tag the monarchs before sending them on their long journey to Mexico! In the spring, we observe the life cycle of chicks by incubating and hatching them in the classroom.
Next year, I would like my students to observe the life cycle of frogs by raising tadpoles in our classroom!
We will need a fish tank, gravel, aquatic plants, tadpole food, and a large magnetic life cycle. The kids absolutely love these science experiences and are eager to talk about them at home!
