My students need a variety of books for guided reading groups, book boxes, a classroom set of timers & journals, and a variety of hands-on learning materials.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
Students in the first grade have to move 12 reading levels in one year! It is my goal that every student not only meet, but exceed grade level expectations while building a love of learning.
I teach a unique group of hard-working, creative, and passionate first graders at a high poverty elementary school in North Carolina.
These students are full of energy and full of life when they are in the classroom. Some students come with little to no reading experience and are apprehensive about reading. I would like to create a classroom environment where can enjoy literacy!
It is my goal to set high expectations for each and every student no matter what their background consists of and give them the best experience possible!
My Project
My students have worked so hard this year, that they have read me out of books! I am requesting a variety of guided reading materials to engage, enrich, and challenge my eager learners. These materials include the Bluford Bundle and King Series Bundle.
Some of the materials requested are:
-Class Sets of Language Practice Journals & Reading Logs
-Guided Reading Books for students at all levels
-Building Words Activities to Support Learning During Guided Reading Groups
-Student Timers
-Children Celebrate Books
Do you remember what it was like the first time you could read a book on your own?
My first grade students need supportive materials to help them create that first literacy memory. Please help me to create a literacy rich environment where I can support all of my readers and their tastes!
