This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Dear prospective Donor, Research shows that academic achievement can be enhanced and improved through the use of the Arts. I not only believe this, but I see it on a daily basis. I am the creative arts teacher at an early childhood facility for three through six year old students with physical challenges. We have approximately 100 students, and all of our 11 classrooms come to me for art each week. I use "hands-on" art activities to help develop concepts in many academic areas. I feel that science is an area that quite often, due to time constraints, gets neglected. Science also lends itself very well with art activities It's exciting to see my little "magicians" say the magic words and change red and blue (primary colors) into purple (secondary color). We have made three tile murals at our school, and some of our students can explain that when clay is heated in a very hot kiln, it turns to stone. I would like to purchase "Simple Science Exploration Tubs. There are 6 tubs, each covering a different scientific topic. They contain all the materials needed for my students to experiment and explore these 6 scientific concepts. I would incorporate these materials in "hands-on" art activities for my students.
