Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a wonderful group of first graders. They are very excited to be back in school, even if it's online. They love singing, listening to stories, and playing math games. They especially enjoy participating in "sharing" and are great listeners when their classmates share. Their enthusiasm for learning is so inspiring!
My Project
Young children are hands-on learners and need manipulatives to help them learn basic math skills. If funded, my students would be able to use these materials when I am teaching online and when they are completing their independent assignments at home. These tools will keep them engaged and let them practice counting, adding, and subtracting in many different ways including playing math games.
My students love school and having their own math supplies at home would motivate them even more!
If this project were funded, we would be so appreciative, because it would make learning easier and FUN!
