This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are bright, inquisitive and excited to learn. I teach pre-school through fifth grade in a Title I school. All students receive free lunch. They are the best kids, but the school operates on a tight budget and has little to no funding for art supplies. It’s important to me that they have all the resources they need.
As their teacher and mentor, nothing would please me more than to just hand students the supplies they need.
However, due to a lack of resources, the school does not have funds to allow me to purchase the special supplies the students need.
My Project
In this unit, younger students examine landscape artists and create paintings, focusing on the urban spaces they live in through shape and color. To do this, they need the requested paint and brushes. In addition, students will learn about urban artists and art history. By providing students with art supplies, little artists will have many opportunities to see their own ideas come to life!
As their teacher and mentor, nothing would please me more than to just hand students the supplies they need.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have willing little artists. We just need your help in getting supplies into their hands!
