Help me give my students Poppa's Pizza, The Three Little Pigs building set, alphabet stampers, and dough design wheels that will help build their fine motor, language and social skills.
We believe that children learn through play and we do that in our classroom every day! We are a fully inclusive, Pre-K classroom where some students have developmental delays and some do not. We strive to create an environment where the children enjoy coming to school every day and develop a love for learning. We work on developmental skills such as social emotional, communication, self help, academic, sensory, fine and gross motor, as well many other things. Children learn when they're able to explore with their hands and move their bodies and interact with each other. Our classroom is a place where the children feel safe, accepted and valued. Our classroom is often a child's first experience in school and we want to help nurture every child so that they develop the skills that they need to be successful in schools, well as a life long love for learning.
"Play is often talked about as if were a relief from serious learning.
But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood. ~Mr. Rogers
My Project
A child's most important job is play and I want to give my students a wide variety of materials that enhance their social, language and fine motor skills. The materials I have chosen will make a huge impact on my students literacy, fine motor, language and social skills. The light table and light table accessories will enable my students to use their fine motor, language and social skills as they build and explore different colors. My students will learn their letters as they use their hands and play with the Mad Mattr dough, alphabet stampers, and dough design wheels. As the children play games such as Poppa's Pizza, The Three Little Pigs building set, they will work on following directions and problem solving skills.
