My school is a Pre-K through 1st grade school. Our students come from a wide variety of economic and diverse backgrounds. I teach 14 energetic first graders with different levels of developmental delays.
They love to play, touch and explore the world around them.
They’re active and busy learners, that love hands-on activities that keep them engaged. All my students are eager learners, who despite the difficulties they face, come to school every day ready to learn and work hard.
My Project
As a special education teacher I work with students who have a wide range of academic, physical and behavioral needs. I want to give them the materials that will engage all their senses while providing them with opportunities to learn and practice their fine motor skills. My students will be able to utilize the magnetic pocket charts when working on building words, especially for the students not able to write yet. The Find the Letter activity center is a great way to build fine motor strength and skills while working on learning the letters of the alphabet and letter sounds.
