Little Engineers...Toot Toot!

Help me give my students STEM related experiences using Nano Hexbugs to create mazes, and Air Hockey Soccer Pucks to implement the engineering process.

My Students

My students are first graders who love coming to school everyday willing to learn. I want to give them experiences that keep them coming back with excitement and enthusiasm. The majority of my students come from low poverty backgrouds and need to gain real world experiences. My goal is to create as many life experiences in the classroom as possible. By showing them love and support, my students will flourish in all areas of academia. They absolutely are adored by many, and feel a part of a family when at school.

This project will reach all first grade students at our school.

My Project

Nano Hexbugs will help our students with STEM experiences using the engineering process to gather, analyze, and evaluate information. The goal is for students to take this process and learn from real world experiences, the hexbugs will help tremendously with the process. They have no rules, therefore students must plan, implement, and evaluate how to make these bugs follow the path they are given. The air hockey soccer pucks will be used in lessons dealing with force and motion (along side the Hexbugs).

In essence, the Nano Hexbugs and Air Hockey Soccer Pucks will help our students grow into little engineers and take their experiences into the real world!

I can't wait to see what these students create from this experience!
