Little Engineers Bringing Construction Plans Through Revisions to Finished Products!

Help me give my students the ability to plan and revise their buildings and creations using a mix of high tech and low tech hand tools!

My Project

My kindergarteners are just setting out on a learning unit about construction. We will learn about the design process going from envisioning to researching to planning, then executing and revising! Then we will reveal our finished designs.

Our construction planning is for human and animal habitats, but also unique inventions to make daily life even better!

We also practice giving each other feedback throughout the design process. This includes complimenting, noticing, wondering, and suggesting revisions to our friends to help them complete their engineering projects.

When the students initially envision their projects, it keeps our work 'green' to be able to sketch out our ideas on and iPad instead of going through reams and reams of paper. It also makes sharing our concepts with families at home possible by sharing digital renderings and pairing them with photos and videos of the actual finished product!
