I work at a large school with a high population of immigrant students right in the heart of Texas! My students come into class full of life and excitement. They enjoy coming to school and learning. They have become such independent learners at the young ages of 5 and 6! Each day we have designated time for Reader's and Writer's Workshop, Literacy Stations, Guided Math, Math Stations, and much more hands-on activities.
Our class is full of diverse students and learners, so we love to explore learning in many different ways!

My Project
Our classroom is so lucky to be able to have 5 iPads that we can use for various activities. Unfortunately, we do not have all of the accessories we need to make using these items as easy as possible for my kinders!
Having the headphones that fit their little ears, splitters, and a charging station will make it so easy for my students to independently utilize this amazing technology!
Not having headphones that fit properly or are compatible with the iPads can get a bit tough. We use them during Math and Literacy stations. While 4-5 students are on the iPads, the rest of the students are working in other stations. Hearing the sounds coming from the iPads can be a bit distracting if you are a student at another station. The use of a splitter will also allow more than one student on an iPad at a time. This is great because our class size is 20. I can have students working together on a project using only one iPad. The charging station would give my students an easy and efficient way to store and take care of our classroom iPads.
Not only are the iPads such a beneficial way for students to learn, but it will help them understand how to take care of the items in their classroom!
