Little Desks For Little Learners
Help me give my students the opportunity to work wherever they feel they would learn best with lap desks. Instead of working at a standard table, sometimes my students work their best sitting elsewhere.
My students are a wonderfully diverse group of kids in a close-knit, supportive school community. They all have varying academic, behavioral, and personal needs; some need more challenging learning, some need more scaffolded learning, and some also have special needs that require more intensive interventions. Our school population has grown every year I've taught here, and there has been a growing waiting list every year. The staff and faculty are amazing and collaborative, the parents are pro-active and care about all the children, and the children are a sweet caring group of kids.
My students love to work all over the classroom, from sitting on a chair at the tables, standing while working at the tables, sitting on the rug, lying stomach-down on the rug, or using chairs as tables while sitting on the ground!
I would like to give my students a portable desk so they can work wherever they learn best.
They are durable desks, but light enough so that students are able to move the desks around our classroom easily. They will be able to sit anywhere within the classroom to read, write, collaborate with others, and create their way to 2nd grade!
