This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Technology is important but many times using technology takes away from imagination. My students need some fun materials to foster that imagination and to make learning fun.
I teach kindergarten in a low-socio economic school.
I have 18 students who come to me from all different backgrounds. Sadly, many of them do not have materials at home that foster creativity and learning through play. They are always so excited to use Lego's, but we need more! Lack of funding prevents me from supplying my classroom with the adequate amount.
My Project
My students need sets of LEGO for learning centers. Kindergarten students learn best with hands-on, engaging materials that inspire creativity. Lego brand products are perfect for little hands to create, build, play, and learn. The materials requested with this project will be used in math centers for a variety of activities including patterning, counting, sorting, graphing, addition, and subtraction. They will also be used in literacy centers for building letters, words, and sentences.
Your donation will ensure that my students have materials that foster creativity and a love for learning through play.
Lego's are the perfect tool for math and literacy centers, because they can be used to learn in so many different ways.
