Our school's kids are determined and inspiring. They love opportunities to think outside the box and to drive their own learning. They are ready to beat the odds and learn what they need to be successful in the 21st century.
Our students live in rural Vermont and many of our school's families have never sent a child to college.
They gravitate toward creative opportunities to explore their world. They love our emerging STEM program and the dynamic learning that will goes along with it! With no budget from our school district, we depend upon donations to make purchases of the electronics that are really capturing our students' interest and opening the doorway to deeper learning!
My students have a small selection of Little Bits, which are intuitive electronic pieces that help students understand circuitry and electronics like nothing else ever has. The ability to understand how electronics work and impact our lives is an area of great interest to students, and with groups of up to 40 students utilizing our current limited supply of Little Bits, we simply do not have enough to compete with their imaginations!
We need to be able to have students work in smaller groups so more students have the opportunity for hands-on learning and exploration!
