This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In August, most of my students experienced school for the very first time! They walked in as new comers and leave each day feeling welcome and loved! I work at a Title I school, where every child receives free or reduced lunches. Many of my kids are being raised in a single parent household or by their grandparents.
Many students do not show up to school with the necessary supplies to help them become life long learners.
They need basic supplies to help succeed with everyday school work.
My Project
Providing students with skinny dry erase markers will help them to be able to trace letters and numbers. The skinny markers help to improve their handwriting. Dry erase markers help to encourage engagement when ask students to trace.
The headphones will help to increase the technology use in the classroom.
We are lucky to have iPads in the classroom, but when students are using them it becomes really loud. Headphones will keep student's attention from wandering.
The ABC puzzle will be used as a center. Students can self check if they know the capital letter that matches the lower case letter.
