This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to learn. They enjoy singing, dancing, playing dress-up, and building tall buildings with the blocks! In our classroom, we focus on learning through movement and exploration. I strive to give students the opportunity to be hands-on with their learning by using manipulatives.
We learn to interact with each other through creative play.
We start each morning by singing and dancing on the carpet together as a classroom family. My goal is that with your help, I will be able to provide my students will all the things that they need to learn.
My Project
Art is fun, messy, creative, expressive and colorful. It's not only fun for the curious minds; it's also essential for developing the whole child.
Art allows a child to experiment and use their imagination, language skills (talking about their art), math skills (patterns, size and shapes), fine motor skills (grasping different art supplies, cutting, gluing and painting) and concentration.
I am requesting a variety of art supplies including dough tools, paint, and sponge painting materials. I want my students to explore all the art materials, feel confident and be proud of what they have created. They should be able to enjoy the process they go through and then be proud of their final product. Art should always be fun and never be stressful!
