Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of 22 second graders who are very eager to learn. They love school and most importantly feel safe in an environment where they play, make friends, share stories, and learn.
My students really enjoy expressing their artistic side and when comes to the subject of art, you can hear laughter and see their enthusiasm as we begin an art project.
Most of my students participate in a free or reduced prize lunch. My students are predominately hispanic and come from low-income families.
My Project
The easels and aprons will give my students an opportunity to use a variety of media tools and materials to express their art ideas. We just need your help in getting these materials in our artists' hands. The easels will be used by my students to create paintings/drawings using watercolors, oil pastels, and tempera, etc. The easels will be placed at our art table and the aprons will be readily available in our art supply bin.
The donation of this project will help my students learn about the different media and tools that an artist needs to communicate their ideas!
By having easels and aprons, my students will feel like real artist as they learn about different artists who use art celebrate life events their culture, and their communities.
