Each student in my classroom will bring a unique, diverse, and beautiful story. In our low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. It is my responsibility to make them feel safe, appreciated, and empowered.
Maya Angelo once said, "In diversity, there is beauty and there is strength." It is my goal as an urban public school teacher to encourage and grow confident and intelligent humans who will be a change in this world.
Each student has the potential to do great things, and I want to provide them with the support and resources to prepare them for their futures. To make world changers, I need your help!
In order to motivate and inspire them, I need to provide them with adequate materials to grow. These students are the future. It is our job to make the future great.
My Project
The students in my classroom are beautifully diverse and each have a unique story. As their educator, it is my responsibility to show them the power in diversity and the importance of understand the world around them. These students are passionate readers and focused learners. They are in need of resources that increase this passion, not tattered and torn books with missing pages. My classroom is full of future leaders, and it is my responsibility to provide materials to reach his or her full potential. This book will give them another perspective on life, diversity, and equality.
