My Project

Books have taken me on adventures and places I never knew I wanted to go or be involved in. I want my students to feel and live those type of adventures through books.

My school lost its library due to a fire.

It will reopen soon! But, this left me buying books that correlated to our studies, that were age appropriate, and that grasped the attention of my young students. I find their preference is for stories that are biographical in nature. I couldn't buy many books on my own and I want to build a class library that sustains their interest and makes them want to be readers.

Seeing books and reading about people that look like them will be encouraging and up lifting. I want my students to see beyond their front doors and reach toward a future full of new, beautiful and soaring heights, all because in the pages of an elementary book someone's story told them they could.
