Help me give my students student-friendly book shelf and book bins that can organize books by book level. It will allow them to easily access books appropriate to their level while keeping the books organized.
Do you remember the first time you finished your first chapter book? My 3rd grade students are at that stage! Some have just started chapter book reading last year and some have just started this year. Their love for reading is growing as they discover new books and new genres. They are learning the joy of completing a book and discovering new books as they grow their interest in reading. My students love to read around the room and will take any chance they have to do so.
My students are enthusiastic scholars that are curious and ready for challenge.
Their face brightens up when they finish another chapter book and are able to share it with those around them. They are also able to earn prizes for being an excellent reader. Reading has also allowed them to learn new information and new words. Taking books home and reading to their families are another joy of reading my students have discovered.
My Project
These new classroom additions will allow me to structure and organize the classroom library for our growing readers. My classroom library is where my students expand on their imaginations, grow their vocabulary, and read independently. Having a library bookshelf that are appropriate height to my students will allow them to easily access and re-shelf the books. The organization using book bins will allow them to easily pick level-appropriate books to grow their reading skills.
With the new organization, students will be able to read independently and continue growing their joy of reading.
My current bookshelf is falling apart . It has prevented us from expanding the library. This has also made it difficult for students to find books at their level and reorganize the books in the appropriate space.
