My students walk into our classroom everyday full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
I teach at a low-income/high poverty school district where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
I am trying to bring new and exciting materials into our classroom to help spark motivation and a love for reading! I believe a set of grade 3 VersaTiles may be just the key!
We are in need of materials to update our reading centers.
My students are all on different levels in reading, so a set of VersaTiles are perfect because they can be used in a variety of ways for a variety of learners!
Small group work is the core of a student's education.
The small group setting that these centers will provide will help me work with groups of 1-6 at a time, which is very important for building relationships and really teaching each child. It is important to a young child to have individualized attention! These materials will make a difference by providing differentiated instruction to small groups of students. Students will rotate through these centers to focus on reading/writing skills.
VersaTiles will support fluency, vocabulary and comprehension which will enrich the student's vocabulary and reading performance. VersaTiles will provide many activities to get the student's brains stimulated and interested in reading!
